ACCA Realise - engaging members
ACCA has held the first presentations and workshops for members on ACCA Realise - the new CPD scheme. The first three locations were Manchester, London and Shanghai.
On 4 November in Manchester, over 100 members attended a presentation followed by a question and answer session. Face-to-face workshops took a more interactive, informal approach and were run in Shanghai from 10-12 November. On 10 November, another large presentation was given, this time in London, with over 90 members in attendance.
Even members who were initially sceptical found the meeting changed their views: "I was unsure about the scheme at first, but I now believe that CPD will be very beneficial in aiding my career development".
Over 40 further events have been scheduled between now and next Spring 2005, with nearly 3,000 members already booked to attend these. The events will cover all aspects of ACCA Realise and locations have been carefully selected to reach as many members as possible. Steve Heathcote, Head of Training & Development said, "It is important that members have the opportunity to attend face-to-face training on ACCA Realise, and it is clear that members who have attended are, on the whole, enthusiastic and supportive of the requirements. The feedback we have received to date from these events clearly shows that members are keen that their individual learning and development is recognised, and see ACCA Realise as a good vehicle for achieving this aim".
