ACCA awards Chinese Auditor General
ACCA hosted a grand award presentation ceremony on 21 March 2006 in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. ACCA international president Mr. Christopher Forster awarded 'ACCA President’s Global Award for Achievement in the Accountancy Profession' to Mr. Li Jinhua, Auditor General of National Audit Office of the People’s Republic of China.
On the occasion, Mr. Forster said:
"Mr. Li Jinhua has made a tremendous contribution to raise the social position and influence of accounting and auditing in China, and has created conditions for international convergence of Chinese accounting and auditing profession. He is a renowned expert as well as a courageous and influential leader, who has already made and will continue to make profound impact on the development of Chinese accounting and auditing profession."
Mr. Forster also offered his congratulations on China’s achievements of convergence towards international accounting and auditing standards.
Mr. Li Jinhua accepted this prestigious award and addressed the audience.
In 2006, ACCA created the 'ACCA President’s Global Award for Achievement in the Accountancy Profession'. In the opinion of ACCA’s President and an expert panel of senior Council members, the 2006 award is conferred on Auditor General Mr. Li Jinhua to express admiration for the unique contributions Mr. Li Jinhua has made to Chinese accounting and auditing profession.
Mr. Forster is on a visit to Beijing at the invitation of Mr. Wang Jun, Deputy Finance Minister of China.
